Lawyer's Story

My name is John Driscoll, I’m a lawyer at Brown and Crouppen. I have developed a special interest in the area of the law surrounding the damage done to people and property by toxic mold infestation.

Toxic molds are naturally occurring substances that are normally present in the air we breath. As a part of their life cycle they produce spores that have been linked to various respiratory problems when inhaled. These spores while usually harmless in outdoor air are suspected of being anything but harmless when found in large concentrations indoors. These toxic mold infestations are generally associated with excessive moisture or other accumulations of water in enclosed spaces.

In recent years, American courts have seen an increase in litigation involving toxic mold infestation. Legal actions against architects and builders have multiplied as a result of failure to adequately protect new construction against these toxic substances.
